A Fire in the Fire station...
The fire station spontaneously erupted into flames. Felix and Sharon, the deputies on duty made sure the crew safely exited the building, taking care to stop, drop, and roll. They called the fire department.
“Oh wait guys, we’re the firemen,” Felix chuckled after hearing the phone ringing from inside the building,
“And woman,” Sharon added.
It takes them a while to access the fire fighting equipment but not long after they put the fire out. Unfortunately, not before the fire reaches the neighboring store, Grandma’s Attic. The damage is minimal. Only the old Land Before Time VHS tapes were scorched beyond repair.
“Everyone accounted for?” Felix said, counting the heads of the frightened and injured firemen.
“Where’s Lewis?” said Sharon
“Lewis?” Felix muttered.
Though most had escaped with only minor burns and scrapes, Lewis, a rookie fireman, had been trapped in the communal bathroom. The young man was dead.
A note about Grandma's attic:
Ezra owns My Grandmother’s Attic, and he travels through time in an absent-minded search for interesting items (which often end up being cursed). He shows up randomly, but always where he is least wanted. He mutters incessantly to himself, hums superiorly at the townspeople’s decisions-- he knows their outcomes, but why would he share them? His face is beyond young or old, and his crazy bushy eyebrows complement his spastic movements. Together with his ever-changing accent and lederhosen, he projects an eccentric figure.
It’s up to you to decide whether or not your character knows about his time travelling tendencies.
On a bit of a happier note a Fall Festival happens in Bessie Mae's sunflower field:
- Live music: Country/ folk with banjo and mandolin (sounds eerie and bad)
- Maze in sunflowers (or corn)
- In the park and can take a tractor to the sunflower field
- Apple cider
- Pie making contest
- Crafts table(very lame one)
- Vendor stands
- Apple bobbing contest
- Pumpkin patch and lots of pumpkins everywhere
- Halloween costume contest
- Face painting
- Pumpkin beer brewery visit
